| I am married to Margot and have three kids (daughter, son, daughter). I am a Professor of Health Sciences at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa CA (been there since 1980). My clinical disciplines are Respiratory Care and Emergency Medical Technology. I began taking guitar lessons in third grade and played woodwinds in junior high. My first gig was my 8th grade graduation and I've been playing ever since. In 1966 and 1967, while I was a junior in high school, my band, The California Sons, were in the battle of the bands on Channel 9's TV show, "Boss City". We won the week we were on and were on a second time for the finals (which we didn't win). I started playing bass in 1973. Guitars players then (like now) were a dime a dozen--except for guitarists like me who were a nickel a dozen! So switching to bass has pretty kept me in a band all of the time. Besides bass (upright and electric) and guitar, I dabble with many stringed instruments including banjo, dobro, and pedal steel guitar. |
