Message from Steve

Reading the message below from May 2009 made me realize how suddenly things can change for better or for
worse. I proudly announced we were playing at the Blackwood American Grill in Corona, which we did several
times to great success! Sadly, I now must announce that it has closed. So life goes on.
Alder Eagle has been fortunate to play at a great venue, The Harp Inn in Costa Mesa, several times with the
prospect of continued performances like this September 18th from 4 to 7 pm. The Harp is a really fun Irish Pub
with great food and drinks (of course!) and a tradition of live music from many fine bands. We love it there!
Alder Eagle has kept busy in the last year with several concerts, benefits, and fun gigs. We have been invited to
play for the City of Tustin for the 3rd year on October 2nd at Columbus Park for "Tiller Days" annual festival.
They provide a great stage and sound system with lots of food, drink and activities for the whole family. Come
see us and join the fun. We are on stage from 2:30 to 4 pm.

One door closes and another door opens.
Alder Eagle’s favorite venue, The Cask ‘n Cleaver, in the City of Orange has closed as of May 17th. We were
so lucky to have such a great place to play for all of our friends. We were always treated very well by the
Management and all the employees. We have many fond memories of the more than six years we were the
“Once-a-month” House Band.
The Cask was the center of our social and musical lives. Not just for Alder Eagle, but also for the other bands
that played there regularly: The Albert Heijn Group, The Clams, Dawg Haus Blues, and The California Trio. This
community of musicians, friends, and fans was always so supportive of each other’s performances, sitting in,
singing along, dancing, or just having a great time. We will stay in touch and continue to support each other.
Though we are saddened by the loss of the Cask in Orange, it is an opportunity to move on, to make new
friends, and find other places that will appreciate what we have to offer. We are exploring many options and are
open to new ideas.
Good News: Another door has already opened! Alder Eagle has been given the opportunity to play in the
beautiful new “Blackwood American Grill” in Corona on Saturday, July 25th starting at 7:00PM. The Blackwood
Grill was voted the “Best New Restaurant in the Inland Empire”. Check out their website at
www.blackwoodgrill.com
The Blackwood Grill has an extraordinary menu and wine list and a great bar. The ambiance is elegant, yet
inviting with a warm and friendly feel. They are located just off Magnolia at the 15 Freeway, the first exit South of
the 91. It is adjacent to the Residence Inn.
Alder Eagle has many friends in the Inland Empire who have been looking for an opportunity to see the band
closer to home, and it is “freeway close” for our friends in Orange and L.A. counties too!
We will be playing “All Acoustic” in the enclosed patio next to the newly expanded bar and lounge area. We love
playing our acoustic instruments and singing our favorite mellow songs for our friends.
Please mark your calendars and plan on coming out to support the band in this great new venue.
As always, check www.aldereagle.com for the latest information on our schedule, news, pictures, and more.
Hope to see you on July 25th at the Blackwood Grill.
Peace, Love, Happiness, and Harmony
