Message from Steve
December 25, 2011:
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to all our friends, families, and fans!
2011 has been a very good year for Alder Eagle, not without challenges, but overall very good.
We rejoiced in the reopening of our longtime home venue in the City of Orange, formerly the Cask ’n Cleaver,
and now The Streamliner Lounge in Ruby’s Diner Orange Depot. The new owners have done a fabulous job
developing a truly beautiful establishment. By using fine train art and Art Deco era artworks, furnishings, and
architecture, they have captured the spirit of this historic building and moved it to new level of importance to the
community and to those that love this place.
Alder Eagle has been very pleased to perform on three occasions since the opening in May. Our friends have
been most enthusiastic joining us in the fun and fellowship we have experienced at the Streamliner Lounge. Our
sincerest thanks for your support, looking forward to lots more fun to come!
For the past two years we have been very fortunate to perform regularly at The Harp Inn in Costa Mesa, a great
Irish Pub and venue. We always have a lot of fun in this warm friendly pub. The food is excellent and the drinks
are generous. The management and servers make us and our friends feel right at home. We hope to continue
playing there for a long to come.
We also had the opportunity to play for several private parties in Corona Del Mar, Pasadena, and Placentia. We
made some great new friends and had lots of fun in the process!
Alder Eagle now has over 20 videos on YouTube recorded live at our gigs. We feature some of our guest
artists: Alexa Cobb, Mary Titus, Joel Plante, Christina Priest, Scott Harpst, Dennis Toomey, and Tom
Blankenship. We love having them join in the fun and share their talents! Thanks to you all! We are so fortunate
to have so many very talented friends!
We look forward to another great year of friends, fun, and making music together.
As always, check our website: www.aldereagle.com for the latest gig schedule, pictures, links to Facebook and
YouTube.
Peace, Love, Happiness, and Harmony for the New Year and Always,
Steve, Vern, Patrick, Dan, and of course, our greatest fan Sandy Lala!

Monday June 27th, 2011:
Saturday night was so much fun!
We totally appreciate the support of our friends in coming to see our first performance for the Streamliner
Lounge. It is wonderful for us to be back in this very special place that has played such an important role in lives.
Special thanks to Mary Titus for her superb flute playing, Christina Priest for singing so sweet, Tom Blankenship
for his awesome harmonica jamming, and Joel Plante for sitting in on drums and vocals. We are so lucky to
have such talented friends!
We love what the owners John and Joe have done with this historic building by keeping and enhancing the 1930's
era train theme. The L.A. Union Station inspired Art Deco decor and artworks are really beautiful. The warmth
and comfort is so inviting to the guests and the service and food is great!
And a huge THANK YOU! to the management: Matt, Edward, Steve, Louie, and the terrific bartenders and
servers who went all out promoting, decorating and providing such enthusiastic support. This was truly a night to
remember.
Alder Eagle is back in the City of Orange!
Peace, Love, Happiness, and Harmony,
Steve and The Guys of Alder Eagle

Many thanks to all our friends who came out and partied with us at The Harp Inn on Saturday September 18th – It
was a great night! Check out the pictures on the website.
Special thanks to Mary Titus for her wonderful flute playing – she adds so much class to our sound and we really
appreciate her every time she joins us on stage.
Thanks to Tom Blankenship for his exemplary harmonica blowing. Tom was with Alder Eagle when we first
started gigging about ten years ago and he really has soul! It is always impressive when he jams with us.
Cheryl and Wade Jacobsen joined us to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary – WOW, and they look better
than ever! Congratulations and many more years together.
Thanks to Theresa Symcovitz Groe for inviting so many of our friends from South Gate High School. It was
great to see these folks!
Alder Eagle will be playing for the City of Tustin’s annual celebration, Tiller Days on October 2nd from 2:30 to 4
PM on the main stage. This is our third year playing this festival with great food, drinks, carnival rides,
community group booths and fun for the whole family. Come on down to Columbus Park and join the fun.

Reading the message below from May 2009 made me realize how suddenly things can change for better or for
worse. I proudly announced we were playing at the Blackwood American Grill in Corona, which we did several
times to great success! Sadly, I now must announce that it has closed. So life goes on.
Alder Eagle has been fortunate to play at a great venue, The Harp Inn in Costa Mesa, several times with the
prospect of continued performances like this September 18th from 4 to 7 pm. The Harp is a really fun Irish Pub
with great food and drinks (of course!) and a tradition of live music from many fine bands. We love it there!
Alder Eagle has kept busy in the last year with several concerts, benefits, and fun gigs. We have been invited to
play for the City of Tustin for the 3rd year on October 2nd at Columbus Park for "Tiller Days" annual festival.
They provide a great stage and sound system with lots of food, drink and activities for the whole family. Come
see us and join the fun. We are on stage from 2:30 to 4 pm.

One door closes and another door opens.
Alder Eagle’s favorite venue, The Cask ‘n Cleaver, in the City of Orange has closed as of May 17th. We were
so lucky to have such a great place to play for all of our friends. We were always treated very well by the
Management and all the employees. We have many fond memories of the more than six years we were the
“Once-a-month” House Band.
The Cask was the center of our social and musical lives. Not just for Alder Eagle, but also for the other bands
that played there regularly: The Albert Heijn Group, The Clams, Dawg Haus Blues, and The California Trio. This
community of musicians, friends, and fans was always so supportive of each other’s performances, sitting in,
singing along, dancing, or just having a great time. We will stay in touch and continue to support each other.
Though we are saddened by the loss of the Cask in Orange, it is an opportunity to move on, to make new
friends, and find other places that will appreciate what we have to offer. We are exploring many options and are
open to new ideas.
Good News: Another door has already opened! Alder Eagle has been given the opportunity to play in the
beautiful new “Blackwood American Grill” in Corona on Saturday, July 25th starting at 7:00PM. The Blackwood
Grill was voted the “Best New Restaurant in the Inland Empire”. Check out their website at
www.blackwoodgrill.com
The Blackwood Grill has an extraordinary menu and wine list and a great bar. The ambiance is elegant, yet
inviting with a warm and friendly feel. They are located just off Magnolia at the 15 Freeway, the first exit South of
the 91. It is adjacent to the Residence Inn.
Alder Eagle has many friends in the Inland Empire who have been looking for an opportunity to see the band
closer to home, and it is “freeway close” for our friends in Orange and L.A. counties too!
We will be playing “All Acoustic” in the enclosed patio next to the newly expanded bar and lounge area. We love
playing our acoustic instruments and singing our favorite mellow songs for our friends.
Please mark your calendars and plan on coming out to support the band in this great new venue.
As always, check www.aldereagle.com for the latest information on our schedule, news, pictures, and more.
Hope to see you on July 25th at the Blackwood Grill.
Peace, Love, Happiness, and Harmony
Steve and All The Guys of Alder Eagle
